a woman in embroidered boots
sunshine through the lark trunks
so mild that she can look at it
without hurting her eyes
a man strolling up the hill
bronze-coloured eyes
and wax-blond mop
his sheepskin coat smells
like a greasy kitchen ventilator
throbbing sweatglands
melting deodorant crystals
a large cat in a whitebeam
ear tufts like antennae
claws starts playing with hair
tracks of paws and hooves
a bullfinch’s steam whistling song
the sun turns crimson
brass bells from a sleigh
ardennes embossed runners
a person with a muddy grey look
allied to a
distant sea

As I said earlier, your poem vibrates of different fields; yes different humours. It is a deeply woven world with different elements of feeling playing out much like a symphony.
'deeply woven..' is a great way of putting it... So much here - excellent indeed.
L.
yummy. classical sustained voice. :-)
from the woman to the droll cat to the warrior. loved this Jenny!!

Thanks, Ande! "deeply woven", yes. And long... I am glad that combo worked for you and that it was not too ott. I tend to pack 'em to the breaking-point. :)
leigh, thanks a lot. I am happy you enjoyed it. I am such a fan of your poetry, btw!
Gerry, thank you. "classical", yeah, my taste in literature is not exactly modern. I am sure my reading influences my writing style a bit. My absolute favourite writers are Zola and Ibsen. I adore naturalism!
arka, thanks very much. It is really great to hear that you liked this. The lynx pulling hair is droll indeed. Ouch! :)
Jenny, there are so many great images here that you are spoiling us! I enjoyed reading this over several times and discovering images i'd missed on other readings.
Wow...
this is captivating..
I need to come back and reread it.
its like a Faulkner novel but more edgey
Gordon, I am pleased you enjoyed rereading it. Thank you so much.
jb, thank you. Glad you found it worthy more readings, as well.
A poem like this can be read many times over, and enjoyed just a bit more each time. :)
Matt, that is good to hear! :) Thanks. I enjoy reading your pieces several times, as well.
This is awesome. The picture(s) you've painted here...the tapestry you've woven...simply marvelous. You imagery is so solid. I wish I could actually see what your describing for myself.
"cold like tannin ice in the mouth" great poem...very complex
Thanks, Jeremy. Today the sun is shining and I can actually sense spring coming, slowly but still, up here. When I wrote this one, it was like -15 C. Not sure what that is in Fahrenheit. My writing is always influenced by the distinct seasons in Sweden.
